The latest estimation of infection number in the fifth wave of COVID-19 in Hong Kong

An updated estimation of infections amid surging fifth wave of COVID-19 in Hong Kong

According to an updated estimation from a study led by Professor Gabriel Leung, Dean of HKU Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and Chief Scientific Officer of the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health, the fifth wave of COVID-19 in Hong Kong is expected to peak in the coming week [in early March] or so, at 182,738 new daily infections or 35,121 newly reported cases per day.

Earmarked budget of HK$10 billion by the Hong Kong government for establishing the proposed “InnoLife Healthtech Hub”

According to the Budget 2022-2023 announced by the Hong Kong government on February 23, 2022, the government proposed to earmark about HK$10 billion for establishing the “InnoLife Healthtech Hub” in the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HKSTPC) at the Lok Ma Chau Loop. The first batch of buildings are expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
